City Legal Commercial Director Takes up Challenge to Help Homeless

City Legal’s Commercial Director will give up his bed for a night next month when he joins forces with other CEOs from the south coast to fight homelessness and poverty.

Dan Peachey is taking part in CEO Sleepout, a national initiative that sees business leaders unite as they sleep out for a night and experience what it is like to be homeless. On Monday 16 April, Dan will join more than 60 senior-level employees from an array of industries as they brave the cold and spend the night outside at Fratton Park, the home of Portsmouth Football Club.

The money raised will be split between three causes: Hampshire-based homelessness charity the Society of St James, Pompey in the Community, and CEO Sleepout.

Those taking part are encouraged to raise £1000 and Dan said he is extremely grateful for the support he has received to date. “The CEO Sleepout is a great opportunity to raise awareness and funds for these extremely worthwhile causes,” said Dan.” It’s important that those of us in the business lead by example and one night of slight discomfort is nothing compared to what the many homeless people in this area experience on a daily basis.

‘Spending the night under the stars will be a totally new experience for me and I’m privileged to be taking part in this fantastic initiative which will help make Portsmouth a fairer place to live and work,’ added Dan. “Looking down the list of participants, it’s really interesting to see how many different industries will be represented and I’m personally really encouraged to see so many fellow sleepout-ers from within our legal industry”.
