City Legal Acquires Lacrosse Language Consultancy

Posted on 04 Oct 2018

City Legal Translations is pleased to announce the acquisition of Polish LSP Lacrosse Language Consultancy, based in Warsaw, by its parent company Intonation Ltd. The deal brings together two leading language providers in the legal and financial sectors through City Legal, one of the UK's leading legal and financial language specialists, and through Lacrosse's client base in Poland, Germany, and the wider EU.

Intonation/City Legal Managing Director Dan Peachey explains, 'We've been looking for a foothold in Continental Europe for some time, particularly with Brexit on the horizon. Lacrosse's portfolio of clients fits well with our own and we will be looking to merge our processes and technologies to ensure clients' old and new benefit from the new company structure as soon as possible.'

Lacrosse will continue to operate from its Warsaw offices under the new name Lacrosse Language Solutions Sp. Z.o.o. (LLS) Lacrosse Managing Director Lawrence Fahrenholz will remain on the board of the company and continue to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring continuity for existing clients and staff. Lawrence commented, 'We are confident that together with Intonation and City Legal, Lacrosse will not only maintain its reputation for excellent service and expertise but can go further in assuring a position as a market leader in legal and financial translations. 'The merger will allow Lacrosse to expand its resource base, widen its portfolio of services and improve both its geographic and sectoral reach.'

City Legal Translations is part of the Intereurope Group of Companies, comprising Intonation, a technical translation company, InterRegs, a publisher of global regulations for the automotive industry, and ICG, a PR and design agency based in Warton, UK. Intonation's owner, David Immanuel, also owns a chain of language schools, LSI Education, with 14 schools in seven countries. The deal brings the language-focused group's combined turnover to over USD 33 million.

The acquisition brings the total number of employees within the Intonation group to 40 and the wider group to over 300.
